We had booked an apartment for this trip but Chris and Jennifer's neighbors
went on a trip and very graciously offered us their lovely home for our
Not only was this a very comfortable and convenient arrangement because
they live across the steet from Jennifer, but it carried an additional bonus:
Tahoe, the Black Lab. This dog was so sweet. He welcomed us and
we reciprocated by taking him for long walks, feeding him and giving him
lots of cuddles.
As a group, we dined at some of Denver's trendiest eating establishments,
including our favorite breakfast place, Snooze.
We spent time together playing games at Jen and Chris' home, walked to the
City Park, and watched Charlie's soccer practice. Chris and I also
drove out to see the home of the Denver Kickers near Golden, CO. We
also drove out west and hiked up to Glacier Lake, a beautiful spot only 40
miles or so west of Denver.
The trip home with Southwest Air was a nightmare, with a 2
hour depature delay, en route thunderstorms and a long wait for our luggage
in St. Louis. It was 2 A.M. before we made it home. A small price to
pay for a lovely visit however.
