At my daughter's urging, I got out of the house for a bit and ventured west to Denver. I stayed with Jennifer and Chris S. and my son Chris was also able to join us for most of the time.
The Denver clan has a tradition of hiking in the mountains every Sunday (aka church). They took me along on this particular hike at the Golden Gate Canyon State Park. The hike is approximately 5.5 miles along some rugged and beautiful terrain. We reached the 9000 foot peak just as the clouds moved in. That spoiled the view but cooled things off considerably and added an air of mystery. We ate lunch at the peak, and then started our descent.
I am in fair shape but my legs were getting a bit wobbly over the last couple of miles. My daughter Jennifer and her dog Luna set a pretty fast pace.
We all recovered enough to take in the "Jazz in the Park" concert that evening along with some of Jennifer's and Chris' friends.
