| November 8 , 2008 - It's a rare thing for the whole Perlow Family to be in one place at the same time, but we were together on this date. Jennifer and Chris came to town for a visit and our Christopher was back from Korea, so we took the opportunity for this rare shot.
Taken at Arnies home on November 8, 2008.

| October 31, 2008 - It's Halloween again and I am following the tradition of posting pictures of the kids (and some adults that refuse to grow up). The weather cooperated beautifully this year with temperatures still in the 70s that evening. I posted pictures from both the Columbia and Saint Louis outings, so Enjoy! |

He still looks like the old Christopher, but here is a picture just in case you forgot what he looked like. |

Take a look at our Europe 2008 travel page for text and pictures from various stops in the four countries visited. |

| August 2, 2008 - Yes, it's true! Arno still plays soccer and participated in the Mid America State Games once again this year. The team failed to win the "Gold" again this year but managed to play a good game anyway and had fun trying.

here is a picture of the birthday girl with her big sister. Happy Birthday Allison. |
| April 7, 2008 - Our friends Marla and Gary came for a visit to Saint Louis. It snowed in Nebraska the day they left, and it rained like crazy here. We still managed to have a good visit that included some great food, long walks, dinner with yet more friends, and an obligatory visit to the Arch. |
| March 28-April 1, 2008 - We had to get away from the horrible St. Louis weather for a few days, so we packed our bags and headed for beautiful Sedona, Arizona. View these pictures at your own risk! You will be tempted to put the house on the market and head west. |

Christmas Activities - 2007 - As the family circle grows larger and larger, we are forced to split up some of the activities. This year the largest event took place on the 23rd at the Stern residence and was hosted by Jim and Jessica. We had a marvelous Christmas Day dinner at Arnies in Chesterfield, and because of weather and other obligations, the Columbia Clan had their own Christmas Day activities. Here is just a sampling of the many pictures that were taken. |
| Thanksgiving 2007 - We celebrate the day with fellowship and a very nice dinner at Arnie's residence in Chesterfield. Rebeccah was in charge of the meal this year and she did a wonderful job. Chris and Jenn made the trip from Columbia and Steven, Jeremy and Shirley were also on hand. Look at some of the pictures... |
| October 31, 2007 - Halloween in Chesterfield and Columbia |
| October 20 2007 - Christopher took time out from his teaching duties in Korea to pay us a visit, dividing his time between family and friends. He spent most of his time with us but also got to spend some time in Columbia with his sister and in Chesterfield with his brother. He played soccer, went on a canoe trip, attended the wedding of his cousin Amy, and ate lots of western food. Together, we took a lot of pictures, some of which I selected for a slideshow. Enjoy! |
| October 4-7, 2007 - Our friends Garry and Karlyn came all the way from Riverside California to visit us. We did a lot of the tourist type stuff but also took time to just hang out and enjoy each others company. |

Christmas 2006 - Christopher took time off from his duties in Korea to spend a couple of weeks with us and visiting with friends and family. It was great having him home and we hate to let him go back. Having him with us made this Christmas special and we had a great time visiting with family here in St. Louis and with Jenn in Columbia. I put a little slideshow together with pictures from both the St. louis and Columbia festivities. Happy Holidays!

| Dec 1, 2006 - It all started with a lot of rain, then turned to freezing rain, then sleet and finally snow. We got nearly two inches of ice accumulation here in University City topped with a couple more inches of sleet and snow. The storm left over 500,000 people without power here in the St. Louis area. Central Missouri didn't get that much ice, but they got almost 2 feet of snow. Take a look at the pictures... |
| October 31, 2006 - We celebrate Arnie's Birthday and Halloween. Unfortunately, if you are an adult and your birthday falls on Halloween, you don't garner much attention. Still... Happy Birthday Arnie!!! |
October 19, 2006 - Cherie and I had an invitation to join my Brother-in-Law Mike in Southern California for a Anniversary/Birthday celebration. It would have been his and my sister's 51st anniversary and his 39th+++ birthday. No matter the reason, it never takes too much arm twisting to visit SoCal at this time of the year. The weather did not disappoint, nor did the pleasant company. We met Mike's friend Anita, and had the pleasure of hanging out with George, Brian, Lorie, Jeany and many of the friends that came to the party. Unfortunately, Mike's brother Joe was not able to make the trip.
Take a look at some of the pictures... |

| July 28, 2006 - After rebounding from one of the worst storms to move through the St. Louis area in some time, Cherie takes a few days to visit our former neighbor and
Cherie and Ruthie on Broadway. friend Ruthie in New York.
The storm hit on the evening of July 19, causing widespread destruction and leaving nearly half a million people without power for a week. Our power was restored after 2 days, but the cable company wasn't that fast to respond, leaving me without cable TV (that's acceptable) and without my broadband connection (not acceptable) for 8 days. The storms brought very little rain but rained down a ton of debris. The damage was only minor at our home, but many weren't so lucky. We lost some large trees in our neighborhood streets and parks, and it will take several more weeks to clean up the mess. |
| July 19, 2006 - The St. Louis National Weather Service Office on the now traditional annual canoe trip. Perfect day for a weatherman outing. The daytime highs were around 100 degrees, and that evening we had severe weather move through the area that left many St. Louis residents without power for over a week. Come and look at some of the pictures from the trip. |
| July 2, 2006 - Cherie, Arnie and I take a very short trip to Chicago to attend a Pfaff Family gathering. Not all were able to come, but most of the Chicagoans and some out-of-towners were able to attend. The Slideshow pictures show activities ranging from a gathering at the hotel, to brunch at Bruce and Lisa's home, to dinner at the restaurant banquet were we all gathered for some good food and fellowship. I have to apologize for the quality of some of the pictures. A combination of dim lighting, fast moving subjects and an inept photographer all contributed. Some of them did turn out OK though and if you are interested in obtaining the original (higher resolution) image, please contact me, and I will send it to you. The slideshow images were all resized for posting. If you have some digital images that you would like to include, send them to me. |
May - June, 2006 - Cherie took a trip to Paris with her sisters, Carla and Shirley and her niece, Ariel. I was concerned that this trip might deepen the rift in French/US relationships, but it turned out OK I guess. Our embassy is still open, and they all made it back without problems. Rather than staying in a hotel, Cherie rented an apartment in the 11th Arrondisment in Paris. It turned out to be a great find, convenient to mass transportation and within easy walking distance of shops and Cafes. Between the four of them, they took several hundred picture.
1. Here are just some of Cherie pictures in a slideshow...

| May 29, 2006 - Cherie is in Paris, Chris in Korea, and Arnie had other obligations, so I was forced to do the University City Memorial Day Run by myself this time. A warm day and a huge field of runners. I ran slower then ever before but did manage to finish the 5K without stopping to walk. My neighbor

though. There were visits and dinners and walks in the snow. For more info, visit our Christmas Page. |

Missouri. |
|
September 9, 2002 -
A friend and colleague visits for the weekend.
Our friend Marla (also employed by the Weather Service at the Hastings,
Nebraska Office) stayed with us for a few days. We used the
opportunity to get together with other friends for a very enjoyable
weekend. Activities included long walks and talks, a barbecue,
bicycle tour, a tour of the city, and a lovely dinner with our neighbor
and friends from the airline industry. |
|
September 1, 2002 - The summer heat is slowly fading and
we're anticipating the cooler nights and moderately warm days of the
fall here in the St. Louis area. In light of the plight of the
airline industry, Cherie has given up on waiting for a recall and has
gotten a realtors license and a position with a local broker.
Chuckie has moved to Columbia to go back to school full time, and
Jennifer is glad to have some family so close. We spend a lot of
time and energy working on the house and yard now that our travel has
been curtailed. Everyone is in good health and our kids and
grandchildren provide us with much joy and entertainment. The
economy sucks, but life is good. I'm going to share some recent pictures of the girls. They are all
growing up very fast. |
| August 25, 2002 - Another friendly against the Columbia Team. This time we met in St. Louis. |
|
June 29, 2002 - Waiting for the World Cup final this weekend.
Hate to see it coming to an end. Until the next World Cup game in
2006, I'll have a beautiful crop of granddaughters I can watch growing
up. Here are a couple of pictures you don't want to miss.
These are just a few days old. One of Charlotte
strutting her stuff, and one of Allison
and Summer. Allison has to have wear a cast on her leg for a
couple of weeks after taking a fall. Her sister doesn't look to
sympathetic, figuring this is just another one of Allison's schemes to
draw attention.
|
|
June 23, 2002 - A
group of soccer fanatics make the trip from St. Louis to Columbia to

Chuckie, and all the grandkids were there to make this a special day for
all the dads. We ate, fellowshipped, and watched World Cup Soccer
together (A family obsession). I'm sorry that I couldn't post any
more pictures. My camera lost battery power and I was without
spares. You'll have to look back in here for recent pictures of
the ladies.

|
May 3, 2002
- A day off during the week. The sun is shining bright, the
temperatures are in the 60s. What to do? Take Allison to the
zoo of course. Leslie was OK with the idea and we went and picked
Allison up in the morning and returned her in the afternoon. The
zoo turned out to be a lot of fun for all of us. Come
take the tour with us.
|
|
May 1, 2002 -
In order to make room for more pictures for the grandkids, I had
to go to another host and took on a new domain name. From now on
the Perlows are at their new cyber home at www.perlows.com
But then, you already knew this since you're here looking at this.

|
April 25, 2002 - We
celebrate Allison's second Birthday with a gathering of family and
friends. No longer the baby. How time flies. Good
thing we have another little one following right behind her. Let's
just keep it going.
|
|
April 2002
- We convinced Jim and Tina to take a
weekend excursion to New Orleans with us. We managed to get a
couple of rooms at the edge of the French Quarter. It's a busy
season and we were glad to get something close and at a reasonable
rate. It wasn't a 5 star, but it served it's purpose. We
spent many hours and covered many miles walking through and exploring
the French Quarter and Garden District. As always, it was fun
company and a great time.
|
|
Easter, 2002 - Jim invited everyone
over to his house for an Easter meal and
family fellowship. Both his side of the family and Tina's side
of the family showed up in force, and a head count revealed over 50
visitors to his home that day. Jennifer and Chris drove in from
Columbia with the baby. Cherie's sister Joan and her family
drove up from North Carolina to visit. Nice to see everyone
there.

March 4, 2002
- Nothing newsworthy to report from the homestead, but I did post
a few more pictures of baby Charlotte.
It's very cold here right now, but spring is right around the
corner. We're waiting for the renewal that spring brings and
hopeful news from the airlines recalling the furloughed flight
attendants. Cherie is getting cabin fever.

February 19,
2002 - Charlotte Olivia is
born! Jennifer and Chris collaborated to produce a truly
sweet and beautiful little baby girl. Actually, Jennifer did most
of the work, with some excellent results. The baby was born at
7:58 AM and weighed in at 8 pounds and 2 ounces. She stretched out
at a full 20 and 3/4 inches. She, Mom and every one else is doing
fine. Come and look at some of the first
pictures.

January 2002 - Jennifer,
Chris, and Clayton are eagerly awaiting the arrival of baby
Charlotte. See what they've done to the
baby's room.

January 6 2002
- A baby shower for Jennifer here at our home in St. Louis.
Friends and Family braved the season's first snowfall and came to
celebrate the occasion. It was "Ladies Only" and they
captured the day with lots of pictures. We
will share a portion of them with you. Jennifer received lots
of love and gifts, and barely had room in her vehicle to haul everything
back to Columbia.

Christmas 2001
- We actually stretched our holiday activities into 3 separate
gatherings. On the 23rd, we all met at
Arnie's for a gift exchange and a very nice dinner since Jenn and family
couldn't be here on Christmas day. Christmas Eve was spent at
Carla's home where most of Cherie's family met after an evening
church service. Christmas day was spent
here where yet more gifts were exchanged, and we ate yet another big
dinner. Time to start our exercise regimen again.

Thanksgiving
Day 2001 - The weather was exceptional for our
Thanksgiving Day at
Summer anxiously awaiting the rest of the family so she can get started on the meal. Allison seems to take it all in stride! Arnie's and Leslies house in Chesterfield
, and so
was the food. It was a shame that Jenn and Chris couldn't be with
us. They were off visiting family in North
Carolina.

October 2001
- Progress on the new (old) home... From the yard to the attic
space, slowly but surely we're making some progress. The yard lost
a lot of shrubs and trees and gained a lawn.
Cherie was
furloughed as a result of the 9/11 tragedy. She misses flying, but
is making herself useful at home and spending lots of time with her Mom
and our grandchildren.

|
July 2001 - From the burbs to the city. We're
moving! The idea was to scale down and get away from the
homogeneous sea of single family homes here in the suburb. We
found an old home (90+) in the city that we really like.
Forget about scaling down though. The home is bigger and the lot
is 3 times as big. The move is scheduled for August.

July 2001
- To help Jennifer celebrate her 30th Birthday, we take a
little trip to Las Vegas with her and Chris. They came into
St. Louis for a BBQ on Saturday and we flew out early Sunday. The
immediate family was on hand to celebrate the occasion, and Jenn and
Chris had some exciting news to share with us all: "Jennifer
is expecting a baby!" The due date is in February 2002, so be
on the lookout for lots of baby pictures.

|
May 2001 - Cherie picks up a trip to London, England,
and Arno tags along. It's only for the weekend and way too short,
but still a wonderful opportunity. Arno travels first class while
Cherie toils. We forego sleep to tour the Brighton Beach area
(where we stayed), and hang out with the crew (all of them first
class).

|
April 2001 - We just returned from a quick weekend trip to Las Vegas and
turned right around and made a get-away to
Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic. Like Puerto Rico, it
was tropical and we spent most of our time just loafing on the
beach. Our cat threatened to go on strike if we left him alone
again any time soon, so I guess we'll wait at least a couple of weeks
before heading out again.

February
2001
- It's nice to have someone in the family in the airline industry. We manage a 3.5 day getaway to San Juan Puerto
Rico. The weather in St. Louis was horrible when we left, and when we
stepped off the plane in San Juan we were greeted by sunny skies and
temperatures in the 80's. This was our first trip to Puerto Rico and we
enjoyed it thoroughly. Beautiful scenery and very friendly people. We'll be back.

January 2001
- Trying to escape a very cold Missouri winter, we head to sunny
California for 3 days to visit our friends Karly and Garry in Riverside. We made some very enjoyable excursions to the Mission at
San Juan Capistrano, and Medieval Times in Buena Park.
We also spent a day in Tijuana, Mexico. Cherie's Mom made the trip with us, but
stayed with her sister in Chino.

Christmas
2000 - The kids visited us on December 23rd for an early Christmas
dinner and gift exchange. Both Cherie and I are working over the holidays,
and this was the only way we could all be together. Even though we
celebrated a bit early, it was a wonderful time.
|
September 2000 - We celebrate Cherie's Birthday with a fantastic balloon ride over some beautiful countryside in east central Missouri. The next day we
had a great dinner complete with kids and grandkids at Arnie's and Leslie's.
|
| August 2000 - We decide on a last minute trip to New
Orleans. I think we've forgotten our last visit to the "Crescent City" in the heat of
summer and have to learn our lesson all over again. We stayed in the
French Quarter and did all the tourist type things, including eating way too
much. In Rome you do as the Romans do... |
|
July 2000 -
Cherie posing at the graduation ceremony in the TWA Training Center Cherie switches to TWA and has to go through the training academy again. She graduates and starts flying right away |
|
May 20, 2000
- Chris and Jennifer are married at the Jewel Box in Forest Park, St.
Louis, Mo. It was a great day and a joyous occasion for all. You can look at some of the digital images of the wedding or peruse the original webpage the happy couple put together. |

April 25, 2000
- Another granddaughter!!! Allison Reed Perlow was born at 10:27 CDT
at St. Johns Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. She weighed in at 7 lbs 12
oz at 20 inches. Mother and daughter are both doing fine. Her sister
Summer thinks she's about the best little sister anyone could ask for.
This baby is mighty cute! See for yourself. |
|
February 2000
- Another trip down to Texas to visit with friends.
This time our son Christopher joined us down there. He spent some time
visiting with
Christopher's friend Lonnie. his old bud Lonnie and all of us ate lots and lots of Mexican
food. We only spent one night in the Lone Star State, but got lots of visiting done.
|
|
January 2000 - We made
our annual pilgrimage to Las Vegas. We met up with the Camenga
Family and thoroughly enjoyed our time away from the cold Midwest winter and
time with our friends. We stayed at the Jockey Club Condos (compliments of
the Camenga Family) with a great view overlooking the
"Strip" and the Paris and Bellagio compounds. We're probably not
the conventional Vegas visitors, even though we did gamble a little, but we
spent most of our time sightseeing, walking, and enjoying some of Vegas'
extraordinary restaurants. |
|
Happy New Year to you all. Cherie was on "reserve" over New
Years Eve, so we had no choice but to stay at home. We spent a
little time on-line chatting with our friends in California and Texas,
and then toasted in the year 2000 with a nice bottle of champagne. I trust that the coming year, and any part of the next century that you
may be around for, are very good to you. ...back to top...

Christmas
1999 - Cherie and I both got stuck
working over the Christmas holidays, so we celebrated with the kids (and
Grandkid) the weekend before. We enjoyed a very nice Christmas dinner and
some pleasant fellowship.

| December 3 1999
- Yet another trip!
This time we're off to Houston, TX to visit with some old friends and attend the
annual Teen Challenge Banquet. This banquet celebrated the 25th
Anniversary of the Teen Challenge program in Greater Houston area. Several of the
Some of the Staff and Workers from the original Teen Challenge Center on Westheimer in Houston, Tx former workers and staff
came from different parts of the country,
including us. We took advantage of the friendship and hospitality of our
friends, the McBees, and stayed 2 nights with them. We also had a
wonderful barbeque at the McBee's on Saturday with nearly 20 people showing up
for the occasion. It was a good to sit and talk with old friends, some
that we haven't seen in over 13 years. We left with the promise to not
wait so long to visit again. It was a short but fun packed visit. |
| November 1999 We took a trip to
southern California to visit our friends Garry and Karlyn in Riverside, Ca. From
there we took a little side trip to Tijuana, Mexico to do some shopping.
This was the first time we tested Cherie's travel privileges, and even though
that meant flying standby, it worked out just fine. To add to the
adventure, we took Cherie's mother along for the trip. She took the
opportunity to visit her sister in Chino, Ca. She had a wonderful time and
proved to be a great travel companion. |
|
August 1999 -
Posing in her TWE uniform
Cherie finished her
training to become a flight attendant. Even though the training course was
very challenging, she passed the course and started flying in September.
She enjoys her work, even though it keeps her away from home quite a bit. Also in August... Little
Summer is not so little any more. she turned 5 and celebrated her birthday
with all her friends at a "Chuckie Cheese". |
July 1999 - A group of family members and friends gather at Beaver
Lake, Arkansas for a week of fun and sun. Temperatures soared into 3
digit readings at times, but we still managed to have a great time.
